According to the Public Relations Office of the International Federation of CARDIO HIIT (IFCH), the federation’s Annual General Assembly was held on February 1–2, 2025, in Paris, France, with the presence of all eligible voting members.
As a result of the election, Dr. Hossein Abedi was elected by an overwhelming majority vote to serve as the new President of the Federation for a five-year term, until February 2030.
Dr. Abedi holds a PhD in Exercise Physiology and brings with him extensive experience in international sports management. Over the past two decades, he has held various key roles in global sports organizations.
He has served in multiple positions at anti-doping agencies, gaining valuable expertise in integrity and athlete health. Since 2014, he has collaborated with the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) as Secretary General of the National Muaythai Association. From 2016 to 2020, he served as the President of the Professional and Amateur League within IFMA.
In 2018, Dr. Abedi was elected by the General Assembly of the newly-formed International Federation of Xtreme Tricking (IFXT) as its President, a role he held until 2024.
When asked why he was interested in leading the IFCH, Dr. Abedi stated:
“One of my personal interests is to lead young and newly established federations. I firmly believe that such organizations hold immense potential that—if managed properly—can thrive on the international stage. These emerging federations often attract energetic Gen Z professionals, who bring a wave of fresh, positive energy into the system. The world of sports desperately needs this pure and positive energy. I have a deep conviction that the future of global public fitness will be shaped through the International Federation of CARDIO HIIT. That’s why I accepted the presidency—to take on a new professional challenge in my career.”
